Adjacent to the house an outdoor kitchen sits near a generous terrace with rich planting in colours and shapes inspired by the arts and crafts movement. A new kitchen garden is built nearby, reusing stone already on site.

The canal and turning basin are sensitively edited with sensitive planting for screening and biodiversity but is otherwise left untouched.  In the old canal basin, a fire pit in the centre of a sunken circle of Cotswold stone is surrounded by rich meadow planting and a semi-circular pergola covered in roses.

The annex and studio, along from the repositioned orchard, is given its own sunken terrace and parking.  The entrance is planted with Malus evereste for privacy – and of the most fragrant and eye-catching sort – and the space reconsidered to allow ample discrete parking.
