The essence of this garden lies in the family who will use it. An awkward triangular site is transformed into a series of distinct spaces each with its own purpose and atmosphere. The connection between these spaces lies in the structural use of hornbeam hedges and planting that is united by bold simplicity but rich generosity.  

Framed mini meadows lead to a semi-circular kitchen garden and a sweeping border of grasses, roses under multi-stemmed Betula utilis subsp. jacquemontii 'Doorenbos'. The Mediterranean themed dining area opens to a secluded garden for cut flowers. Here flowering perennials, shrubs and aromatics combine to create delicate waves of colour and texture, creating a place to stop and remember deeply. The neighbouring space offers a semi-discrete and versatile play area for the children, an area which can be re-imagined in the future.
