Andrew will visit your site and discuss with you your thoughts on your current garden and your hopes for your future space. There will be a questionnaire and site appraisal including soil conditions. From these I will draw up a brief, design a mood board and draw concept sketches for your garden. I will then meet to discuss these with you.

For some gardens I can undertake a survey, normally with the help of a colleague. For larger or more complicated spaces - for example steeply sloping spaces - I would require a professional survey. I can help you to arrange this.

I consider alterations and amendments to the concept and from this draw a detailed site plan for your garden. This includes drawings on space allocation, level changes, hard landscaping if required, irrigation and lighting.

I can help you to appoint a contractor to build the agreed design and will meet them on site with you. I will be available for calls at this stage and can arrange additional site visits to check the build is according to the design. These will be charged at an hourly rate.

I design a bespoke planting plan for your garden according to the agreed design. In addition I can provide maintenance advice for those who wish to maintain their own garden going forward, charged separately.

I order and deliver the plants from specialist nurseries. This ensures excellent quality plants at an economical rate. I set plants out to ensure they are in the best position to establish well.

Generally you like your garden, but there is a particular aspect you would like design help with. This might be a new planting palette, the addition or repurposing of a space, the addition of lighting or an irrigation system.

Contact me. I come to your garden and you show me the area you would like to work on. We discuss options and I deliver a concept with a mood board for this area to check that I have understood what you are looking for.

I design according to what we agreed following the consultation stage and you receive a copy of the plan - whether a plan for an area, a lighting plan or an irrigation plan for example.

You may be happy to take the plan forward yourself. If you require the help of a landscaper I can work with you through the selection and contract process. If you need plants for a planting plan I can source these. Some lighting and irrigation systems I can source and some can be installed by a keen home gardener.

You receive a summary of the main areas from our discussion. 

For an additional fee you receive a professionally produced pack including plant recommendations, colour palettes and a mood board.

You get out your tape measure and work out the dimensions of the border you’d like me to redesign.

I research, think and feel and will then come back to you with a draft plan for your border. We will discuss this and I will make one revision which is included in the price. Beyond this my normal fees will apply.
